The scouts made some excellent food as well. Everyone had a their fill of what ever was on the menu and no complaints were made. I hope that in the future the scouts of the troop get creative with the menu and explore the things that they can make at camp. Our menu consisted of classic hot dogs and burgers, camp bread, Texas Ranger Stew to pancakes. Oh, did I mention the Choco Chip Pie?

Troop 931 held its very first over night camp out from August 31st to September 1st. Although the location was not exactly "off the beaten path" as we camped out in the back yard of Mr. Kindron's house, it did prove to be useful. The purpose of this cam out was two fold. First, to give the new scouts in the troop (which is everyone) a chance to get some experience doing and using camp gear and methods. Secondly, to go through what the troop owns for gear and do clean up, inventory and practice with it. Over all it was a success. We all learned something about each other and how as a troop we work together. We also all had fun doing the tasks that were needed. Some scouts had never cooked before. Some had never done KP duty before, some had never slept in a tent that they had pitched. even the leaders learned that they have some things to work on.
