Troop 931 spent the night setting up all of its tents. As simple as this sounds, it took the entire meeting to accomplish this. Every tent was set up for inspection to determine its fitness for use. Some tents had broken poles while others had missing stakes or even the wrong pole(s). In the end, we made sure that we had as many complete tents as possible and that incomplete tents were set aside and will be worked on. A very useful night and was great practice for some of the newer scouts still needing practice with this skill.

Troop 931 attended the Polaris District Fall Doomsday Survivor Camp O ree this weekend. About 300 scouts attended the event. Scouts were tested in basic survivor skills that one might face. The weather for the event was not bad with the exception of the high winds that played havoc with tents and shelters across the entire camp area. Scouts were treated to Alpaca Stew on Friday night and a huge bonfire Saturday night. This was the first time that as a troop going camping that we had two patrols cooking cooking food for them selves. It was a good test and we learned several things from it. Pictures from the camp out will be posted to this web site soon.
That was the main event tonight at the troop meeting. The scouts from both patrols conducted pack inspections in preparation for this weekends Doomsday Survivor camp out. Its always a learning experience for the scouts doing this kind of activity.
The troop followed a well planned out and run meeting this evening. Mr. Burke did a class on compass work and navigation at the request of the PLC. This is in preparation for the November camp out in which many of the scouts in the troop will attempt to successfully complete First Class requirements 1 and 2. Afterwards the troop used some patrol time to work on menus for next weeks camp out. This will be the first time that the patrols will be doing patrol cooking. The Troop also installed Brendan K. as the new Troop Quarter Master and Cole K. as a Den Chief. Cole will be working with Pack 193's WEBELOS Den once a month.
Both Patrols for troop 931 elected new Patrol Leaders tonight. The Lightning Patrol Elected Michael R as its new PL. Michael then selected Andrei K. as his assistant PL. The Honey Badger Patrol Elected Kadin T. as its next PL. Kadin then selected Elliott K. as his Assistant PL. Both PL will serve for six month terms. Congratulations! After the elections, the PLC met and planned out several weeks of meetings. While the PLC was meeting, Mr. Kindron started the rest of the troop on going over camping MB.
