Tonight was a very good night as we welcomed back one of our members that we have not seen since around the holidays. It was great to see Josh back with the gang. We almost had 100% turnout but AJ was busy with other duties this evening that prevented him from being here. No matter, we found our selves working on Camping MB again and ahowing off the shelf unit that Mr. Rotolo and I built the week before. Scouts should be reading their Camping MB books and working on requirements that they missed to keep up. Contact your Patrol Leader to get the up to date facts on where you should be. The patrol also worked on helping Josh finish up Tenderfoot requirements. A good meeting over all.

![]() Just when you think you are getting the night off, guess again. Well, I shouldn't complain since this was planned and it really was a necessary thing to do. Mr. Rotolo and Mr. Kindron took the opportunity of not having a troop meeting to get some work done on building some much needed storage space at the church. Some additional shelves are planned to create some more space for our equipment. for now though we have something to work with. ![]() The scouts from the Lightning Patrol got back to working on Camping Merit Badge tonight. Tonight they focused on Leave No Trace principals and how to apply them when out of doors. They also spent time updating their hand books and second class requirements. They also updated the large chart that shows their advancement. We were even joined by a former Cub Scout that the boys knew from pack 193 who happened to be at the church for a visit. Who knows, maybe we'll see him around at a troop meeting. ![]() The Alien Invation has taken place but the Boy Scouts have prevailed! Members of Troop 931 Lightning Patrol participated in the 2014 Klondike Derby at Camp Stonehaven February 7-9, 2014. The scouts did well for thier very first time at the derby. Competition was tough and the scouts did thier best to compete. At the end of the day they did a great job of working together and discovering. Everyone should be very proud of themselves for the job that they did. Even our adult leaders got in on the act. By some miracle they somehow managed to fool a panel of judges that they know something about food. Mr. Kindron and Mr. Rotolo walked away from camp having been crowned this years winners of the Scoutmaster Cook Off for thier "Alien Autopsy Stew" creation. ![]() Members of the lightning Patrol worked on finishing up the Klondike Sledge in preperation for this weekends Klondike Derby at Camp Stonehaven. A HUGE thank you goes out to Mr. Rotolo for his expert help with the sledge. The scouts also conducted pack inspections and discussed last minute details of the derby and camp out. Anticipation is high and excitement building. It should be a great weekend. |
