In other news, we were hoping to have a visit tonight by the Webelos II scouts from Pack 185 but they did not show up. So we continued on with Camping MB and discussed in detail the importance of camp sanitation. Some final prep was done for the April Camp out as well. AJ volunteered to do the shopping for the patrol.
Tonight was an important night for the troop and the members of the Lightning Patrol. Greg was selected to become the troops first SPL. After serving as the Patrol Leader for the Lightning patrol over the past six months, he has done a fine job. Greg will now serve at the troop level which will present some different responsibilities to him. As a result, the Lightning Patrol had to elect a new Patrol Leader and Assistant PL. AJ was selected by the patrol to be the new PL and Justin as the APL. Michael will take on the responsibilities of the Troop Quarter Master.

Another full and busy night for the members of Troop 931. We continued working on Camping MB and finished requirement 6a. It was very good practice having the scouts talk about the different types of tents and their functions as well as care and site selection. They finished the requirement by breaking into groups and setting up tents, cleaning them out and putting them away. Everyone was in attendance tonight. Plans were discussed for next weeks meeting when the Webelos from P185 will be visiting.
Tonight was VERY busy. We had some very special guests this evening as Pack 193 held their meetings at St. Marks due to their building being unavailable. We were happy to have them. In attendance tonight was everyone except our Patrol leader as he was under the weather. Many announcements were made tonight. It seems like a great many things are happening in the near future concerning the troop. Items mentioned included the April camp out and the crossing over of 4 scouts from P193 to our troop. Plans will need to be made to include them on the camp out. A conservation project opportunity has come up within NT. The Mayor will hold his annual Canal Clean Sweep on April 26th @ Mayors park starting at 9am. The troop should plan on meeting there on that date. We will be able to use the service hours.
Greg will assume the office of SPL on the 27th of this month. The Lightning Patrol will elect a new PL that night. Once the new scouts from P193 join they will form a new patrol and hold a PL election. On April 10th, the SPL will make appointments for other troop positions. This interested in holding a position should make their interest known. We will also be expecting a visit from P185 on March 27th. We can expect to see a few of those scouts by May to join the troop. The troop will have a special guest come to speak to us about the dangers of smoking and drugs on April 10th. We will also try to plan a swim night later in April, possibly the 24th. Greg is working on the details. We also completed requirements 5c,d for camping merit badge. We will continue to work on this as time permits. Tonight for the first time in a bit the Lightning Patrol was all together. They worked on skills for Camping MB that included setting up tents and completing duty rosters and menus for a camp out. They also discussed food choices and clothing choices for camping.
