The scouts of Troop 931 & the Lightning Patrol held their first regular weekly meeting of the new scouting year tonight. We had 100% atendance tonight which was nice to see. Everyone came back to the troop excited and energized to do a lot of things this year. The Scouts arrived a bit early tonight so that we could get a little planning done before the start of the meeting.
Mr. Kindron and Mr. Rotolo provided skills instruction on Canoeing and covered Canoe paddles. The discussion centered around the different types and styles of paddles and how to care for them. After the skills instruction the scouts met as a patrol and were tasked with developing the next two weeks of meeting plans. Guidance was provided by Mr. Rotolo. Mr. Burke joined us later and the troop closed out the meeting with Gregory receiving his Scout Badge and Quartermaster badge of office finally. It was announced that the troop will be canoeing on Sept. 28th, info to follow; Next month we will be camping at the district camporee; and the next month Patrol Leader elections will take place.
