With a new month upoon us we move along with a new theme and very appropriately enough the scouts selected Camping. This was an excellent choice as the troop and Lightning Patrol will attend their very first District Camp-o-ree, the Roughrider! I hope they are as excited as I am. It will serve as a great source of fun and good learning experience for them.
Tonight the Patrol started with skills instruction on Camping and we discussed first aid for some very serious conditions that can occur while in the out doors. Later, the patrol elected a new Patrol leader for the next six months. Four candidates ran including the incumbant PL Justin. Others included, Gregory, AJ and Michael. The scouts had determined that they could not vote for themselves in the elections. After the initial vote it came to a two way tie with AJ and Gregory in the running. A second vote determined that Gregory will serve as the Patrol Leader of the Lightning Patrol for the next six months. My congratulations to Gregory. I would alos extend a very big "Job well done" to Justin for the honor of being the very first Patrol Leader in the troops history. Gregory will be considering positions for appointment such as APL, QM, Scribe, Librarian, Historian, Bugler, and possibly others. If you have any interest in any of these positions please express your
