The troop stated meeting again in early September. We held a COH to honor those that received badges and awards from the summer. In October, the troop help Patrol Leader elections. New patrol leaders were elected for both patrols. See the patrol pages for that info. Attended a troop camp out in October at Letchworth St. Park. We also provided service to the KOC at their Farmers Breakfast. The troop is going camping in November at SSR.
Trying to get the blog post caught up for the troop. Sure wish I had a troop Webmaster to help out. Hint, hint scouts! Anyway, look for weekly updates once more. To get things caught up...

Troop 931 elected to forgo the usual district fall camp out this year and ventured off on its own to the Grand Canyon of the East. The weekend was perfect to say the least. The weather was very cooperative and great for sleeping. the troop took in the fantastic sights of nature spectacular power and patience. It was a nice weekend and fun filled event for those that attended.
Troop 931 attended the Calumet International camp out for its second consecutive time. This was a big one for the camp as it marked its 50th annual running of this event. happily but sadly I can say I was at the 16th and a few other early ones. Time flies when you're having fun I guess. Now its these scouts chance to have the fun and have fun they did. Although they didn't win any of the events, they participated in all sorts of cool events like taking an off-road jeep ride up to the top of the mountain in camp. Some of the first time scouts at Calumet had the chance to climb the rock wall at camp. Once again our Canadian friends were in camp and lets not forget about the big match. Even the leaders had the chance to meet fellow leaders from over the years and share in the celebration of 50 years of scouting at this event with cake. Ahhhh, what a day. It was a good time and as things change over time, so must events like this to keep up with the scouts. So it was announced that future Calumet camp outs might be located at a different camp and perhaps a name change to go along with it. We will see what the future holds.
For only our second time ever the troop attended to the Alden Auto Show but not to see all of the great classic cars. We focused our selling this year on just a few basics like pop, water, and snacks and had very positive results. Only a handful of scouts from the troop participated but the troop made a nice profit that will go a long way to helping out. The weather was great as it was warm but crazy hot outside which kept people buying drinks. We also had the chance to see many fantastic cars and learn a little bit about our history as well. Thanks to those that came out and helped out.
What an exciting week we had at camp! 14 scouts from our troop and 2 guests from T184 attended summer camp this year. 7 of our scouts attended Young Braves, working on and learning the basic skills that all scouts need to know. The scouts in the troop earned a total of 20 merit badges, with 5 scouts earning partials for 7 more merit badges. The troop also was honored by earning two Honor Patrol awards and the coveted Honor Troop award. Well done! We also had two scouts, Luke and Greg compete in and finish the Iron Scout competition as well as two scouts complete the Mile Swim award; Cole and Luke. Nice job boys! Also, Michael R. was honored at the closing campfire with being awarded the Arthur Eldridge Award. This is a high mark of distinction at summer camp for a scout that demonstrates a high degree of dedication to the Scout Oath and Law as well as service to his Troop and the camp. Michael was truly deserving of the award. What a great week!. My special thanks to Mr. Kennedy for all of his assistance this week and having to put up with me. Thank you!
